Sunday Reading Reflections

Gospel: In Luke’s Gospel, notice the transformation of the disciples in this story. At first they suggest the people should fend for themselves, but Jesus draws them to cooperate with his mission. They distribute the food. What God has made possible through Jesus, Jesus extends through the disciples. The compassionate love of the Father is the work of those whom Jesus sends forth into the midst of human need. This is the tradition that has been handed on to us who celebrate the Lord’s Supper today.
